Another Forum Change

Because spammers have started on the other forum, I've made both public forums where you have to be a staff member to start a new topic. However, this does not mean that guests and normal members cannot contribute to the topics listed.

New Direction

I've mentioned this on a private forum, but will also mention it here since it is pretty important. I am hoping that things will get rolling again when I get a server completed for the LS project. There's really no telling what can happen still. If I get it setup, MySQL, email, website, game server, etc. then we might just have a small "finished" game in no time when that plateau is reached.

In all of this time that I am not doing much though, I'm going to be sharpening my skills with another project called Seven Islands Online as a scripter. Being around other people with a single role has already given me some good pointers. I'm looking forward to learning with this group to improve my stance on game design.

New Project on the Side

There is a time when I have to step back and really see where things are going. After doing this, I have come to the conclusion that I need to experiment with more ideas. I remember playing the old school Mario games when I was younger, and memories like these make me want to create video games to share that excitement with others.

The Lucent Stones project has not had very much attention from me lately and it's partially because of many problems. For one, it has taken over a month and a lot of cash to put together a server machine that just now near completion. I am of course ready to pay the price when I'm passionate about what I'm doing, but I am not sure if MMORPGs is where my heart lies now. I'm saying that the Lucent Stones project is discontinued, but I will definitely be experimenting with some other ideas, programs, and applications to see where I want my dedicate my personal resources to.

I'm not going to lie, video games have a pretty secure place in my mind, but I cannot even think of what to work on next that might catch my full interest. I may even join an existing team and see where that leads me. At any rate, please feel free to discuss this topic on the discussion board.
